Serving Kansas City
Founded in February 2023, Kalos Christian Academy partners with families with a four-day classical Christian school. Located in the Northland of Kansas City, Kalos serves kindergarten through high school students.
Kalos Christian Academy’s mission is to glorify God by partnering with parents in discipling their children with a distinctly Christ-centered, classical, and academically excellent education.
Finally, brothers, whatever is true, whatever is honorable, whatever is just, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is commendable, if there is any excellence, if there is anything worthy of praise, think about these things. What you have learned and received and heard and seen in me—practice these things, and the God of peace will be with you.-Philippians 4:8-9
To graduate diligent Christian men and women who love the Lord, are lifelong learners with strong moral character, are dedicated to the authority of God’s Word, and are equipped to do good works for the Glory of God.
Kalos (Ka-los) means beautiful by reason of purity of heart and life. It is the type of Beauty that draws man closer to what is Good and True. It has the same Greek root for calling – kaléō, as in God’s divine invitation to salvation and to know Him.
The LORD our God, the LORD is one. You shall love the LORD your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your might. And these words that I command you today shall be on your heart. You shall teach them diligently to your children, and shall talk of them when you sit in your house, and when you walk by the way, and when you lie down, and when you rise.-Deuteronomy 6:4-7
The foundational principles of Kalos Christian Academy lie in providing a distinctly Christ-centered and classical education. The school’s mission is rooted in academic excellence, spiritual growth, and the development of a supportive community.
This brief history of Kalos Christian Academy, initially began as a dream to provide a unique educational experience for families in Kansas City. Founders Matt and Amber Kaspar enrolled their children in a classical Christian school in the Northland of Kansas City in the fall of 2019. In 2020, there was a surge of interest in private education, especially Christian education. Many of the Northland Christian schools began filling up and soon had waitlists. Consequently, the demand for quality Christian education increased, and existing schools reached their capacity limits. This resulted in many Northland families still seeking Christian education.
Evidently, there was a need for more seats in Christian schools in the Northland. Desiring to fill this need and knowing classical Christian education’s impact on her family, Amber Kaspar decided to start a new school. Therefore, the Kaspar family’s commitment to Christian education and dedication to academic excellence paved the way for the establishment and growth of Kalos Christian Academy. The dream involved not only launching a new school but also a devotion to advancing Christian education in Kansas City. Kalos partnered with the Herzog Foundation, the Association of Classical Christian Schools, and the Society For Classical Learning to ensure that it would not only meet but exceed the standards of classical Christian education.
