Kalos Christian Academy is a private classical Christian school in Kansas City, Missouri,^[1] serving kindergarten through high school. Located at 4513 N. Jackson Ave. Kansas City, Missouri, in Winnwood Baptist Church, it operates on a four-day school week model. Kalos also offers a collaborative education to the homeschooling community of Kansas City, allowing part-time enrollment in selected courses.^[2]

History

Initially founded in February 2023, Kalos Christian Academy emerged as a response to the growing demand for private Christian education in Kansas City’s Northland area. “Kalos is a classical Christian school that uses principles from British educator Charlotte Mason to meet the needs of its students.”^[3] Kalos Christian Academy is the first Charlotte Mason classical Christian school in Kansas City.

Finally, Kalos hosted its first day of class on September 5th, 2023, as an Association of Classical Christian Schools Start-Up^[4] and as one of the first private Christian schools to open in fall 2023 through the Herzog School Box program^[5].  Finally, Kalos established its campus within Winnwood Baptist Church, because its location was strategically chosen to serve the Northland community with easy access from I-35.
